Media Player covered in dots and arrows

Last few weeks when I play a AVI file in WMP the screen is covered in
dots and arrows. .Its really strange. Anyone seen this problem before ?

This solved the problem for me mate. This may be a problem with the ffdshow codec. This is how to remove it.

1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
2. At the command prompt, type regsvr32 /u ffdshow.ax, and then press ENTER. ffdshow.ax is now unregistered.
