Header says all!!

When using RealPlayer with Helix DRM installed, media play
can no longer play any file - it just sits there.

Secondly What cause iTunes to be unable to open or create a
new library. I believe it is the beefed up security. I
originally felt that it was not required.

On this system I have separate 'logical Drives' for each
data type. Documents, Pictures, Audio, Video. There are two
more to deal with installs/downloads, and burn cache.
The "ShellFolders" values are changed to reflect the
location of the data. This setting is ignored to some degree
by Vista - WHY?
Why didn't M$ leave that feature alone? This ignoring of
settings confuses the programs.

Are there any work arounds for these issues?

One of Microsoft's prime directives for Vista was "trusted computing".
This was not a directive to improve security for your use, but to
improve security for third parties so that the user cannot access
digital media without a digital right to use the media (read: a license
to use the media).

This behavior of Vista is similar to the software in the new terabyte HD
offered by Western Digital in which users cannot access media files
stored on that drive unless there is a DRM permission attached to the files.
