Each time I put an audio CD into the cd drive Window Media Player comes alive
and starts to play it. Many times I just want to rip the CD onto my MP3
player with software that comes with the MP3 player. I'll even have the
ripping software loaded and ready to view the first Cd into the drive but
Media Player still jumps ion over everything and starts playing the Cd. Is
there some way I can make Media player just stay still until I want it and
launch it myself? Thanks.

click the Ratings button. Voting helps the web interface.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sounds > Autoplay

or

goto Start menu and enter Autoplay into the start search box.
