I have just run 'update' on my laptop that shows an update is available for
Media Player (Version 10). I have since run update on my desktop and the
Media Player update is not shown as available (Version 9 is installed).
Both machines have WINXP Pro SP2 installed.

Any idea why one machine should indicate a Media Player update is available
and not the other?

Express install == only high priority updates...
Custom install == high priority & optional software & optional
hardware

Not sure of the significance of your response Frank, but it doesn't address
the problem. One machine shows the update is available the other doesn't.
Why?

It think the difference between Express and Custom is self evident.
