Hi,

A sudden loss of power during operations could have damages any number of
components. The most likely problem is corruption of the hard drive or file
system. First, I would try deleting and recreated the installation volume
(doing so will cause the loss of all data currently on that partition). If
that fails, I would download a diagnostic utility from the manufacturer and
check the state of the drive. These utilities are generally used to create a
bootable disk to check the system with. If the drive passes the tests, then
I would look next to the memory, tools like memtest86, docmemory, or
Microsoft's oca memory diagnostic can be used to check for damaged memory
modules. If the memory checks out, then swapping in a known good working
power supply would be the next step.

WTH do you mean? MVP Rick Rogers gave you a detailed answer. This is what
happens when you use one of those stupid Usenet leeching "forums". I'll
explain that at the end of this post. In the meantime, here is what Rick
wrote:

As for your posting method:

You are not posting on a real forum as you think you are. You are using a
web interface that leeches Usenet posts and most of the rest of us are using
real newsreaders. We don't see what you do. If you want to participate in
Usenet, the better way is to set up a newsreader. This is very easy to do
and I'll give you information about that below. If you prefer to use a
forum, then here are two excellent ones:

http://forum.aumha.org/index.php
http://http://computerhaven.info/

Since you are using a web interface, you may not realize that this is really
a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to use
a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use
Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it. Here
are some links to information about newsgroups:

Hi, saeen.

There was a reply from Rick Rogers at 5:09 AM (CDT) today (9/9/09). But the
"forum" you are using simply relays messages back and forth to the Microsoft
public newsgroups, where I am reading the thread. Rick's message may be
delayed - or simply lost.

If you'd like to go directly to the Microsoft server - which is free and
does not require you to log on - just click here:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...rdware_devices

Then you should be able to read Rick's advice - without the delays of
relaying through your forum.
