      10-14-2008

I have vista home premium 1 with 3 g ram and a 500g hd within a fe
minutes of startup most of my ram memory is in the cache I contacted h
they told me to defrag.It is still defragging after hours. What els ca
I do ? I only have this computer for 1 month

Vista handles memory like that. It makes better use of available memory.
Free memory is useless memory.

Uninstall the memory defragger, and forget about it..

Exactly what do you mean by "in the cache"? Where are you seeing this?

??? I can't imagine how such a problem with your RAM would be a result
of fragmentation of the hard drive.

That short time makes it even more unlikely that your problem is
fragmentation.

If you don't have the computer turned on that much, it could still be indexing.

No one better is looking at it.

Please explain it. Maybe we'll flock to it in droves, until then there is already
more hype over Windows 7 as an alternative, rather than hyperbole Ubuntu.
