My notebook has 3gig mem running Vista Ultimate. Welcome centre and Control
Panel/System indicates 3gig. Task manager shows total 2gig. With a few of my
apps running i quickly get "0" memory available. Is this a Task mgr issue?

Another quirck ... The notebook has a 2.13GHz centrino processor but device
magr displays 1.83GHz. Welcome centre and Control Panel/System indicates
2.13G.

Are the above some anonalies of Vista or is there something wrong?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance ...

It sounds like you need to make sure you have the right mobo drivers.

It sounds like it could be a bad stick of memory.

Have you tried swapping the memory sticks out to see if it only shows 1 GB if it's missing a stick?

Also do you mean that you have a Pentium M or Core Duo or Core2Duo processor perhaps?

Centrino isn't a processor made by anyone, it's a packaging name for a bundle of certain Intel features, so that's why I'm confused.

Intel Pentium M Processor 2.13GHZ (Single core - previous technology)

Device mgr says 1.86GHz, but Welcome centre and Control Panel/System
indicates 3GHz ....

I am sure it is not a major issue, just wondering why

HOWEVER the memory available in Task Mgr is a concern as the notebook
becomes real slow with certain of my apps when it shows zero available from
2Gig and it shoud have been from 3Gig.
