For this question, it is assumed that all items are on the desktop.

I have a folder named TOP.

I also have a folder named 2ND

In 2ND, I have a text file named Current.txt

I am asked if I wanted to COPY or MOVE 2ND.

I select COPY.

Now, 2ND is in TOP, and also on the desktop.

Now I pick up 2ND again, and drop it again on TOP. I am asked if I want to
MERGE 2ND with the folder already in TOP of the same name.

I click YES.

But it doesn't MERGE. The file in 2ND, Current.txt, is moved out of the 2ND
on the desktop, merging it with the 2ND in TOP.

But the now empty 2ND on the desktop remains.

Why?

Shouldn't it have merged (moved) as well?

I just upgraded from Home Premium to Ultimate, and have nothing installed or
loading at startup, so there shouldn't be any conflict there.

Why is it doping this?

Regards,
Chuck Billow

You should try shift-drag, and ctrl-drag, to see the difference.

Mark, tried all combos I could rtik of...nada.

It's GOT to be some adjustment or such, because nobody else seems to have
this issue, I didn't have it in XP, so I know it can "work right", and I've
had the same thing with both versions of Vista now, but everything else seem
fine. So it's GOT to be some type of adjustment.
