MSN History is saved as *.XML files. You can move them to your laptop, even
place them in the same folder, but they may not be viewable through the Live
Messenger Program itself. You can click on the individual files, and read
the conversations.
Under the Tools> Options> Message section, you can designate a different
folder that they will be created in, other than the default one.

History is saved on the machine not the server. Whatever was saved on your
old machine will still be viewable there (unless you have deleted it). New
history created on the laptop will viewable on the laptop.
Do you need the new history to be available on the old computer?
