Messages Not Being Copied To Sent Items

Even though I have 'Save copy of sent messages in the 'Sent Items' folder
checked
live mail doesn't copy any there. I've sent 8 or 10 messages since I
installed Live Mail to Microsoft newsgroups
and not 1 have been copied to the 'Sent Items' folder.

Any ideas why this is so?

James

Hi, James.

How many Sent Items folders do you have? How many Accounts (News and Mail)
do you have?

WLM keeps a single Sent Items folder for all newsgroups, plus a separate
Sent Items folder for each Mail Account.

So, which Mail Account were you using to send messages? Are your copies
stored in the Sent Items for THAT Mail Account? For news messages you
posted, have you looked in the Sent Items folder under Storage Folders?

I have 1 mail (pop3) and 3 news accounts (which are all msnews but I've
created one for Vista
one for Access and one for Internet Explorer for easier navigation.)

I only see 1 Sent Items folder.
The messages in question are posts to the newsgroups(s)

I was having a problem before with Live Mail sending a copy my newsgroup
message post to
the Outbox. Then getting an error when I start Live Mail telling me it
couldn't upload. The
error would persist until I dragged the message to the Sent Items folder.
That problem have
seemed to clear itself up.

View, Layout, Folder pane, check Show Storage folders.
Sent items, Deleted Items, and Drafts for newsgroups are located in Storage
folders.

Outlook Express had one Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, and Deleted Items. There
was no separation of accounts.
WLM has Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Junk E-mail, and Deleted Items for each
email account.
All newsgroups use Storage folders Sent items, Deleted Items, and Drafts.

Warning: WLM has one difference from OE or WM. If you remove an email
account, the emails are also removed. Move any emails to Storage folders
before deleting email accounts.

I am not experienced with Microsoft Live E-Mail. I used to use Office
Express, and when I sent a message it got saved in my sent file. But as
others have written even though in Microsoft Office Live e-mail I checked off
save sent mail in "sent items" folder they do not appear there. I think I
see in the "thread" that there might be a sent folder in Microsoft Office
Live Desktop Folder, but I don't know how to get there. Can someone give me
some gudance in non-technical language.

Thanks, I.S. --
