I have used Outlook Express for many years. I am confused with WLM.

When I download messages to outlook express there are no messages left on my
ISP server. I like it this way. There is an option inside "Accounts" in
Outlook Express to leave a copy of messages on your server if you want to.

I have just bought a new lap top and hope to discard my PC when I have
sorted all problems out with WLM. When I download messages to WLM on my
laptop messages are always left on my ISP server. Is there a way to pull off
all messages on my ISP server into WLM

Hi, Neil.

The option to turn on/off the setting to "Leave a copy of messages on
server" is still there in WLM. But now the default is to leave them, rather
than to not leave them, so you'll need to change that option.

To get to the page to make that change, right-click on the Mail Account in
the Folder List (on the left of the screen, typically). Then click
Properties | Advanced. On this tab, remove the check from "Leave a copy of
messages on server".

Hello Neil,
RC has provided the quickest and best way to modify the email account's
message left on server setting.

Here's the long hand method.

Keyboard:
Alt F O E
- Select and Account > click Properties > Click Advanced

Mouse:
Click on the blue button (WLMail button) in upper left, scroll to Options
to expand the options menu, scroll and click Email accounts
- Select and Account > click Properties > Click Advanced

Also of note, if desired one can right click on almost all ribbon and menu
items and add it to the Quick Access toolbar (allowing one click access to
that item in the future).

Hi, Winston.

Thanks for adding that. I first was going to use the WLMail button |
Options | Mail. Then I remembered that the "Mail" option only lets us
adjust settings across all Accounts (such as Sigs and where to put the Store
Folder). So I suggested right-clicking the Account in the Folder List -
which works. But I forgot that WLMail | Options has both "Mail" and "Mail
Accounts" - which produces the familiar-from-OE list of Accounts, from which
we can toggle the Leave...on server setting.

And I agree that putting these options onto the QAT makes WLM 2011 MUCH
easier to use! ;<)
