messanger 2009 beta problems

I cant seem to find where to turn my contact list back to being by emai
address not the name that people keep changing all the time.

Makes it really hard to find people, I have to type part of thei
address in the box at the top to filter it and then see what they ar
calling themselves that day to click to send messages

Hi -

The easiest way to make this change, click on the second icon next to the
messenger icon at the top of our contact list. These icons are located next
to the search box at the top. You will see a little green messenger man
icon then another that is two boxes on top of one another. This is called
"Change Contact List Layout". When the new window opens make the changes
you want using the two dropdown boxes at the bottom of the window. Or you
can click on "Show Menu" (last icon at the top) then "Tools", "Options", and
finally "Layout". You will see the same window with the dropdown boxes to
make your changes.

The only options I have are Display name, or firstname lastname, both of
which are not constant.

The multiple location feature is great, but I need email address display
because thats what I know people by, not whatever they are calling themselves
that week.

Hi i installed my Beta version but when i open it it closes automatically and
i dont know why... can plz someone help me??????????

Sadly there is still not email address option, When I first installed
the final one on my laptop, it showed email addresses like the old
version did, but I changed it to display name and now cant change it back.

Come on microsoft, this is a huge step backwards, I am getting sick of
having to search by the email address to find contacts..
