I have been having this problem for months. It deal with auto sign in for
Live Messenger. Sometimes it will sign in automatically fine, and then I
have to enter the sign in info and check the three boxes. My daughter is
have the same problem and she lives in a different town. Messenger will not
hold (remember) the sign in information. It might sign in three times in a
row and then the next 20 times you will have to enter the sign in
information. (hotmail address, password, & check three boxes) My wife
sometimes signs in to check her Hotmail on my computer and then signs out.
About every two weeks I delete temp file, history, and cookies in IE7 to keep
the computer running at a refreshed level. Why won't Messenger remember sign
in information? It get old having to enter address, password, and check the
three boxes everytime you boot into Windows XP Pro SP2. Where is messenger
storing this info? Why is it not placed in a file that is not affected by
clean ups. I have read a number of questions related to this and there is
never an answer. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Hi Bern,

Did you uninstall Windows Live Messenger and reinstall it after
installing Internet Explorer 7? Are you using the latest build?
