Messenger 8.5 Beta installation errors ...

Hi, I'm Jodern here...

I have just try to install the new 8.5 beta the HOLE DAY , but still I can't
get the installer pass through 34 % something ...

after fumbling through all the posts in the news group , I still can't find
the solution for the matter .

But I have just stumbling into the Application Data directory and found the
setup ...

After launch it , it pop up an error to me ..

How can I report back the errors ?

I have try to sign up for the betas in Connect ... But got rejected ...

Hopefully you guys can give me some idea where I can post back the logs and
the error screen shot ...

I forgot to enclose some info about my system .

I'm currently running Windows XP SP2 .
with IE 6 ( version : 6.0.2900.2180.XPSP_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 )
Windows Media Player 11

Thats for now .

delete, the all users>application data> windows live installer and wlinstaller

also delete the program files>windows live>installer

you may have to stop the wlinstaller service

Greetings,

How long have you waited? On one of my PCs, the installer took nearly 25 minutes and
appeared to just stop in some places.

The installer does appear, but it just says there was some error and stops .

I have captured the whole progress of my installation .

Have a view on it . Maybe I did something wrong in the installation proces.

Also, I forget to tell you guys. My system was not patched with all the
patches .

I just patch 4 of the scurity patch . Which is :

KB925486
KB925902
KB912919
KB923191

Will the sercurity patch be important to the installation of the messenger
8.5 betas ?

Because I did not want too much patches as it will be slow down my system.
As my system is kinda slow ...

Thanks for downloading the beta and installing it. Your feedback is
invaluable.

Could you please send me the following files from the locations after
running the installation again.

For XPSP2 :
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\WindowsLiveInstaller\logs C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiLogs C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application Data\WLInstaller

For Vista:
C:\programdata\WindowsLiveInstaller\logs
C:\programdata\WindowsLiveInstaller\\MsiLogs
C:\programdata\ WLInstaller

Once you send me these files then i will look into this issue and reply you
soon.

But I use Traditional Chinese XP SP2
