Messenger 8.5 Installation problems!

hi, i have a little problem im running xp home, and whenevr i try to instal
messenger 8.5 beta from get.live.... it works fine until it sia it will now
get my comp. ready for the install that shows up for about 2 sec. and then
just disappers and nothing comes up. I tryed installing locally (downloaded
file and then install) and just clicking run and the download dialog box
(IE7). Messenger 8.1 worked like a charm before and had the leaked ver.
installed since yesterday which is now uninstalled. Please help. thx
