Greetings,
With Messenger 2009 clients, you can sign in at multiple locations but you'd be notified if
this were the case. Beyond the dialog that appears when you sign in (which can be turned
off), if you pop open the main contact list, it will say Your name (Online: 2 places) at the
top if you're logged in from two places (or more). If you click that, you'll be given
options to sign out on the local machine, another machine, or all of them.
In older versions of Messenger, you can only sign into Messenger on one account so you'd be
signed out if another client connected while you were on your ID.
If you have Live Mobile setup on your account, you'll show up as "Mobile" when you're
offline. However, Messenger will still consider you as offline.
There's been plenty of instances where people have remained offline to some of their contacts
(even though they're online), but this is the first ever of this...
