Messenger causes BSOD

Hi, there, Gurus,
Got myself a little problem.
Since downloading and installing the very latest Windows Live Messenger
every time I sign in, it gives me about 2 minutes before crashing into the
BSOD. In fact, if I don't exit the program from the System Tray as soon as it
appears (it does not automatically sign in) I only get about 5 minutes before
crashing.
The salient points of the BSOD are that it's a "Bad Pool Caller", whatever
that means, and the Technical information is: "*** STOP: 0x000000c2
(0x00000007, 0x00000cd4, 0x00000000, 0xff25ced4).
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bevvy

Greetings Bevvy,

When you sign in, Messenger enumerates a number of your devices (webcam, etc.) all of which
could generate a blue screen. As a quick fix, try unplugging your webcam or similar device
to see if you can get in after that.

Failing that, there's some debugging we can do to better isolate it, but it gets rather
complicated...

Thanks, Jonathan,
OK, I tried that, and still there's the crash. I did upgrade to a new Beta
version when the pop up appeared, and that was when the problems started.
I've even tried a system restore, but that doesn't seem to have worked.
Cheers,
Bevvy
