Hi Sophie,
As I said before, you need to have at least Windows Live Messenger 8.1 or above to do this.
These are the wrong folders -- these are the ones from MSN Messenger 7.x and below. You
cannot just copy these ones (well unless you want to set them up again).
If you're absolutely positive that you have Windows Live Messenger 8.1 or above installed on
your old PC, then all you have to do is go to the correct folder and copy them as previously
mentioned (the old folder is not removed when you upgrade):
\Documents and Settings\xxmynamexx\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Messenger\LiveIDemailaddress\Object Store
Now if you don't have Windows Live Messenger installed on the old PC yet, just go ahead and
install it (
http://get.live.com/Messenger/config), sign in at least once for it to transfer
over the emoticons to the correct folder and then you can proceed with the copying.
