The messenger has stopped working!

I install the windows live messenger 2009 Beta and it say that windows live
messenger has stopped working. I using Vista 32 system.

Help me!

Greetings,

Is this before you sign in or after? And if you have the automatic sign-in enabled (aka it
signs you in when it starts), does this happen after the Messenger icon is animated in the
notification area (by the clock)?

This alert message is before i sign in. The messenger don't give me a chance
to sign. Now i using the windows live messenger 8.5 because the windows live
messenger 2009 beta main window do not appear and than the alert come out and
say the messenger has stopped working!

Stick with 8.5 I tried the Beta and it was not as good anyway, at leas
it wasn't very good trying to access my sharing folders, save yoursel
the headache it's not worth it

I tries Uninstalling it and installing it several times , I tried to run it
a san administrator like other forums suggested and run it in compatibility
mode of Windows XP (service pack 2) but still no luck , cna you help me
please cause I really want his beta cause it looks great

Hi Galea.

sorry you've run into this problem! In order to help debug your crash, can
you please post the following
information about your crash. also, did this happen as soon as you
installed the new beta?

If on Vista

In the search bar in the start menu type 'problem'
Select 'Problem Reports and Solutions'
Click on View Problem History
Sort by Date.
In the Windows Live Messenger group select the most recent one.
If it does not say report sent, right click and choose "Check for
solutions". This will send a report and change the status to report sent.
Then double click the event, copy any information that you see there and
send it to us. Information that we are looking for are:
Problem signature
Problem Event Name:
Application Name:
Application Version:
Application Timestamp:
Fault Module Name:
Fault Module Version:
Fault Module Timestamp:
Exception Code:
Exception Offset:
OS Version:
Locale ID:
Additional Information 1:
Additional Information 2:
Additional Information 3:
Additional Information 4:

Extra information about the problem
Bucket ID:

If the above steps do not work, then follow the instructions for XP. It
should work for Vista too
If you are on XP

Click Start
Click Run
Type eventvwr.msc
You might see a large list of events
Go to View -> Filter
In Event Types check only Error. Uncheck everything else.
In Event Source select Windows Live Messenger.
Click OK.
You event view should now only have Windows Live Messenger errors.
Sort by Date
Open the most recent event by double clicking on it.
Note down the following:
Event ID
Copy and paste any description text. Select the text, Press Ctrl+C, Open
Notepad or Email client, Press Ctrl+V

need help to having the exact same problem dont know what to do please help
i have erased the beta version and restored my computer back to the 8.5
version and the same thing pops up windows live messenger has stopped
working. can i erased this version right out and start all over? please help
