Hi, I want to know whether microsoft offers a platform such as Skype does for
web integration. This is, Does Microsoft have a web image user status to
include the contact in a webpage.
I mean, it would be great to provide the link to the user in the portal to
know whether the user is on-line or off-line.
Thanks in advance and I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Greetings Andres,

There was some web integration at one time, but this functionality was disabled and
restricted as worms were using it to spread themselves.

They've never done the user status on a web page thing, but there are third parties that can
help you do it like http://www.onlinestatus.org to do this. There's also services on
http://msig.info/.

Thanks Jhonattan you answered my question.
I have got another question about Messenger Integration with websites:
I read that using the following code syntax I can get to run Messenger from
within a link on a web page

Chat with someone

I indeed tried it with a machine using windows live messenger running on
Windopws XP Home and it worked fine. However, when I tried it on MMSN
MEssenger 7 using my older machine running windows 98, it did not work.

Would you happen to know what are the system requirements to make it work or
could you kindly suggest me a site to find out more about it?.

Many thanks in advance for your valuable help.

The peopleo from http://www.onlinestatus.org are not accurate, I tried with
my own ID and It showed me off-line when I was connected.

I tried to reach http://msig.info/ but the page is unaccessible.

Thanks again, I just wanted you to know.

Hi,

I knew about the second one, I was hoping it was temporary at the time. Unless you've
actually added the bots in question to your list and they're online, you won't show up as
online on the onlinestatus bots.

These are intended for your own usage, not for like putting status for everyone on a forum
and similar things (if that's what you're looking for).
