messenger keeps creating contacts icon on desktop after being dele

the microsoft messenger contacts folder/icon keeps appearing on my desktop. i
keep deleting it, but everytime i exit messenger and restart messenger, it
pops back up. how do i permenantly delete the icon from my desktop shortcuts?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure which icon you mean. Can you take a quick screenshot?

Also, what happens if you double-click the icon to execute it?

i click and its just an empty folder. i delete the icon, exit Messenger and
empty the recycle bin. once i restart Messenger, the contacts icon pops back
onto my desktop. rinse repeat. every time.
