4 versions running side-by side on my computer:

windows messenger
msn messenger 7.5
live messenger 8.1
live messenger 8.5 beta

as you can see messenger 8.5 reminds us of messenger 7.5 in design

Unfortunately, I can't see the first beta version of WLM 8.0 on the
screenshot, this was the only good and innovative version in my
opinion... :/
(The version with the mousehoover for contacts and the buttons below
each contact)

I can have any version if I wanted to....

frankly I don't remember much differences between 8.0 and 8.1..
I think the interface was similar.. with only a few improvements

WLM could be so much better... if MS wanted to...

Its ok but there is so much room for improvment...

Sorry, but this was my favorite version from the 8.X messenger... :-(

oh you cant use it because it says you have to upgrade when you run it?

or what?

If not you can install it, then copy the folder from the program files to
another location
and install the newer one..that way you can have both.
