Messenger live

I have two questions

1. Is windows live past the beta stage?

2. On messenger 7.5 plus I am able to put the name of the person in my
messenger window. Will I be able to in live and if so can you tell me how to
accomplish this?

1. Windows Live Messenger 8.0 was released on June 19th of this year, and an update to that
on August 10th. There is a Windows Live Messenger 8.1 in beta currently
(http://ideas.live.com if you're interested in trying it out).

2. Yes you can do this in WL Live. You just right-click a contact on the contact list and
choose Add a nickname.
