Messenger on pocket PC

The first time i set up my account my contacts are synched to my pda and i
have no problems. If i try to sign on again i will sign on but it tells me
all my contacts are off line. They can see me on and start a conversation
with me which i can then respond to but i cant see them online or start a
conversation with them. I am also getting synchronization failed at personal
settings the email synchronizes fine. Any ideas on how to get this working?
