Greetings,
When the Windows Installer detects a change in your installation, it tries to repair
Messenger when it starts.
In general, just uninstalling Messenger and then reinstalling it will solve this problem.
Note that you *won't* lose any of your personal data, like emoticons, etc. by doing this.
