The Messenger Voice/Video team from Microsoft needs your help! We're
looking for feedback on the new Voice Connectivity Platform in our latest
v8.0 Beta.

How can you help??
- Try installing the current v8.0 Beta from http://ideas.live.com and make
PC-to-PC or PC-to-Phone calls to your friends/family. What we'd like to
know is a) Was the call successful? b) How long did it take for the call to
connect? c) How was the Audio Quality?

NOTE: To use the new Voice Connectivity Platform for PC-to-PC Calls, both
users will need to be on the v8.0 Beta. If one user is on v7.5, Voice calls
should still be backwards compatible.

I got a problem some days ago I wrote on this group... I copy and paste it:

I was trying today to webcam and videoconference with another person who
have the last WLM beta... I was not able... She said to have clicked to
accept the request but I didn't see she did and it didn't work... same
when she tried to send me webcam or videocall invite.
I tried later with a person who still have the 7.5 and all worked
perfectly. It seems just a problem between two WLM beta...


Well, now it seems to work, maybe an isolated problem...

Can you tell us what kind of connection you and your friend are behind? If
you and your contact go to Tools/Options -> Connections Tab, Messenger it
should say something like 'You are connected to the internet using a
non-UPnP IP-Restricted NAT (Administrator)'

I'd like to know this information for both users. Also, if you and your
friend are behind any kind of router (such as LinkSys, D-Link, etc) please
let us know the make/model of the devices.

Also, feel free to send mail directly to the '' alias.
Messages sent here will go directly to the Messenger development team that
works on the Audio/Video features.

I made PC to PC. It was the best ever MSN audio experience!

That's mine (Trying to translate from the Italian): Direct connection
to .net Messenger Service, You are connected to the internet using a
wireless network, You are connected to the internet using a NAT
restricted by a non-UPNP port.

Not sure about her, but I will try to ask next time I see her. I just
know she's direct connection to .net messenger too and wireless.

Don't know if it matters but I'm from Italy and she's from the US.

yes I'm behind a USRobotics 9105 modem/router and a 3Com wireless access
point 3crwe41196 connected to a 4 Mbps ADSL line.
I know she's got a cable modem router with wireless using a cable line....

However things seem ok now, and this problem happened till now just once
between two WLM betas and never between my WLM beta and 7.5. The main
problem I think was that we didn't get the messages with the accept/deny
request and if some of them arrived once you accept no connection was
established.
