Messenger upgrade won't sign in

I was forced to upgrade Messenger a couple of days ago and now when I try to
sign in it will keep spinning the MSN icon forever and also it will not let
Interent Explorer access any website. How to fix this?

Well Messenger uses the same settings as Internet Explorer. So if IE isn't working,
Messenger won't either (in most cases anyway).

What exactly is happening in IE?

if you want to use old version 8.0/8.1/8.5 with msnplus and webcam chatting
