Messenger WON'T remember screenname/password/etc....

Anyone know how to get it to remember my screenname/password and to
start automatically when windows starts up? I've googled for an answer
to no avail, any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

there is a setting in the main window of messenger where you enter the
username and password that has three checkboxes tick them all and it should
remember everything. as for starting automaticaly when windows starts that is
in the general menu in the options panel first checkbox.

Same problems here, on XP Pro x64.

Done the check-box thing, repeatedly, also options, no help.

Would like to see some other, more useful ideas.

I have the exact same problem and can't find a solution and the "support"
people aren't writing back...so far. Did you find a solution? I installed
IE 8 and then uninstalled it and I'm wondering if that's what did it. If so,
I still need to know how to fix it! Thanks!
