Messenger won't sign in

Two days ago I deleted Norton and loaded McAfee. Since last night, my
messenger has NOT logged in. When I click Sign-In, it doesnt' even try. It
doesn't give me any kind of error. I thought I might need to upgrade - made
no difference.

I am on XP Media Center, SP2. I have given Messenger Full Access through
McAfee's Firewall.

Why won't it even try to log in?????

Sounds like you're virus scanner is blocking the ports/blocking messenger
communicating with the server.
Look through your scanner options. There's usually some kind of setting for
letting Messenger communications through. I don't run McAfee so
unfortunately I can't tell you what exactly the setting is.
