I installed SP 2 this morning, and Messenger (and sound) stopped working.
Messenger was starting automatically before SP2, but after installation NOT.
When I tried to start messenger from the menu I could see the"working icon"
for a short time, but nothing more happens.
OK I unistalled the whole Live package, and downladed the wlsetup package
but when trying to install I get a message "couldn't install programs, try
installing again"
But I still get the same message after restarting Vista. E.g there was no
change. I also get an error message "OnCatalogResult: 0x80072ee06" and "An
unknown error occurred"
Now I do not know what to do. Anyone out there that has a clue

Greetings Lars,

It sounds like something broke with your installation with SP2. Usually this is fixed by
heading over to the Control Panel's Add or Remove Programs, look for the Windows Live
applications and uninstall them all. In most normal installations this all can be done by
choosing Windows Live Essentials and then uninstalling everything there.

Then go ahead and re-download the Live Suite to install the applications you wanted @

Note: you won't lose any Messenger, Mail, etc. emoticons/mailboxes/settings by doing this.

Nope, I had already tried to reinstall before I posted my message. But
uninstall and download and reinstall did not change anything since the
installation does not finish I get this message could not install and that´s
it.

Somebody suggested that I should Check the hard drive integrity and run
defrag before trying to install, sfc ran OK but defrag -w just gave me
another problem. It has been running for almost 24 hours now and I do not
know if it is a good idea to stop it.

24 hours seems a lot because I have only 160 Gig data on a 498 Gb disk. And
it is still running.

BTW I am using vista 32 bit version
