The microphone does work in general. However, we have a Panasonic IP camera
with IP audio. There is no sound from the mic across the internet. We
tested on an XP machine and it does work. Any ideas??

Greetings,

Just to be clear, how exactly are you viewing it? IP Camera's won't work in Messenger
(unless Panasonic has made the necessary drivers, which would be awesome news).

Viewing the camera using IE7. I can view and use the audio fine from an XP
PC. The video works fine on Vista IE&, just that the audio transmitted from
the PC via IP camera with audio (Panasonic) doesn't work. I've tried
everything!!

Hi,

Ah, well this it the Messenger group, hence the confusion.

You might want to open up the Vista sound mixer (click Start, type Volume Mixer and click
Volume Mixer) and make sure that IE's sound isn't muted.

Of course, it might be more complicated than that.

Hi,

Can you elaborate on "does not work" -- are you able to make a connection ("Connection
established" at the bottom of the window) at the very least but the person can't hear you?
Does the bar indicating your volume move at all?

The first thing you may need to do is going through the Audio and Video setup wizard again.
To do so, press Alt-T on the keyboard, then choose Audio and Video setup and go through the
wizard.

I am getting the same problem with live messenger

Able to get connection ("Connection established" at the bottom of the
window) can see person on other end but they can't hear or speak to me.
Can't adjust the volume controls either. Skype no problem. Have setup the
Audio and Video so many times now.

I'm able to record and send voice clips though but want live conversation.

Really fed up
