what is microsoft 6 to 4 adaptor

what is Microsoft 6 to 4 adaptor good for?
In devmgmt.msc under network adaptors, I see this Microsoft 6 to 4 adaptor``
with yellow triangle (not working)
I`m tempted to uninstall it. or do I need that for visual studio express
2008 +2010?

It's part of IPv6 to IPv4 tunnelling.

thx for the info.
I guess I don't need it at this time and Cant seem to get the right drive
with update drive, so I will either uninstall or disable the device
