Yeah right... vista SP1 is equal or even faster in speed than XPsp2???....
LOL any more jokes for today?
No doubt you had to pay = commission for this report to get the results you
wanted MS... lol

because everyone else would say the truth! And the truth is that XP is
30-40% faster than Vista RTM
and 30-20% faster than SP1

Vista SP1 is faster than RTM... but XP leaves vista behind in the DUST.

Do you have any proof to substantiate the claim that Vista is 20-30% slower
across the board?

And Windows 98 runs like lightning!

Unfortunately processor power increases continuously but operating systems
go in jumps. Since you want your new OS to use the power of your processor,
you are bound to see a new OS going slower than an old one on the same
machine.

sure.. my personal tests on tens of computers not only mine but others too,
a large spectrum of different configurations from low end to high end.
Basically VistaSP1 is around 30 % slower than XPSP2.

But here is proof from MS itself.. *warning this is going to look ugly and I
will laugh at your willingness to be blind*

Xp:
233 megahertz (MHz) processor
64 megabytes (MB) of RAM
1.8 GB of available hard disk space during installation

Via http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/sysreqs.mspx

Vista: 1 GHz >>> 400% MORE than XP!!
512 MB of system memory >>> 800% MORE than XP!!
20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space >>> around 1000%
more than XP!!!

You are a delusional demented POS capin' crunch.
You can't stand the fact that Vista is the very best OS available today.
Get a life.

Hey On the Bridge!,

Don't you have some audio-visual equipment to setup for your high

That says nothing about speed at all, only basic hardware requirements, all
of which related to the cheapest hardware at the time, and in no way
representative of what most used.

So, where is the proof that Vista is 20-30% slower than XP?

Sony Vaio Notebook, PCPitstop test:
Windows Media Center = 2140
Windows Vista Ultimate = 2154
*And Vista was installed as an upgrade from MCE
Conclusion - equal to or slightly faster than XP

After reading your post, I realized that I could be reading these news
groups 30-20% faster, and while composing this message I could be doing it
30-20% faster if only I had downgraded to Windows XP.

When I record and watch TV, I could be doing it 30-20% faster if I went out
and bought myself an Windows XP Media Center CD/DVD disk and installed it
instead of using Windows Vista.

What other things can I do 30-20% faster? And I don't even yet have SP1, so
I should be seeing a 30-40% faster improvement if I downgrade.

I don't think that evidence of Vista being faster than XP is admissible..
