Can Microsoft delete files on my computer through VISTA without my consent?

If so, what files can be deleted?

Can files be accessed by them the same way?

Again, if so, does anyone have a link to website documenting this?

Cheers,
Iguana

No, because it isn't true.

I normally try to avoid the sarcastic responses, but your're just to
easy a target - You need to check the tin-foil lining of your hat,
buddy. Your conspiracy gears are working overtime.

Back to reality:

The only one capable of deleting files from your computer is you. Or
someone else, if you're dumb enough to tell them what your local logon
password is, or are even dumber to not have a local logon password at
all.

Other than that, if you believe files are being deleted from your hard
drive, then it's possible that your hard drive is failing, or one too
many improper shutdowns has corrupted the file system. It could possibly
be a virus or some other form of malware that is resulting in this data
loss.

Or the tin-foil lining in your hat is cracked and the aliens made you
do it and you don't remember - sorry - couldn't resist!

sure microsoft can do all the things you are asking about.

it is called UPDATING WINDOWS.

during the update process microsoft can play with any/all of its system files it needs to.
