Microsoft iSCSI Initiator loses connection to target
Posts: n/a

Greetings everyone,

I'm deploying a Synology NAS with iSCSI targets.
The objective is to move my current fileserver to the iscsi volumes

Currently I have the volumes and targets created and I have the iSCSI
initiator mounting them on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
My issue is, after mounting the file iSCSI targets, from time to time
I get the following errors in the Event Viewer and I lose connection
to the targets, having to connect them again manually.
The errors are:
iScsiPrt event 20 - Connection to the target was lost. The initiator
will attempt to retry the connection.
.... Several more iScisiPrt errors ...
iScsiPrt event 1 - Initiator failed to connect to the target. Target
IP address and TCP Port number are given in dump data.

The iSCSI target is available in is own vlan with jumbo frames active.
The file server is a Hyper-V virtual machine with a virtual lan
connection to the iSCSI vlan.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.
