I purchased a MS Lifecam VX-6000 for my Dell Inspiron E1705 specifically to
use on Windows Live. I am running Windows XP professional on my laptop and I
was able to load everything in, via the LifeCam 2.0 disk that came with the
camara. However, when I try to use the camara on Windows Live I keep getting
messages in the text pane that say stuff like "unable to start cam, another
program may be using it". When I try to use the Audio and Video Setup in the
Tools menu, I get a message indicating "we are unable to run audio and video
setup". When I try to call my friends computer I get a message saying that I
don't have a sound card yet you can clearly hear the chime when you don't
close the window correctly. There is no help at all anywhere and there isn't
even a 1-800 number for product support anywhere on the box or any of the
printed material included inside the box...The strangest thing of it all is,
when I finally was frustrated enough of trying to get it to work, I installed
Yahoo Messenger on my laptop and guess what. The freakin' camara, designed to
be used specifically on Window's Live, and doesn't, actually works very well
on Yahoo Messenger. Can someone out there, please help me set up, or install
whatever is missing, so that this web cam will work on Windows Live? Thank
you!
