People don't KNOW about Linux. Did you ever hear of Lindhaus vacuum
cleaners ? Neither have I, but supposedly one of the best vacuum cleaners
on the market.
(Note, I'm not saying that either OS is better than the other, but stop
100 random people on the street and ask if they had ever hear of Linux,
I'm guessing, very few would say yes.)
Does 10 million users of Linux sound like a lot ?
FOSS/OSS is *far* more than various flavors of Linux distributions, and
in fact, Linux distros is a very, very small fraction of OSS offerings.
Firefox is FOSS (Which has a GIANT share of the browser usage),
Thunderbird is FOSS.
Sourceforge has listed over 25,000 projects for 32 bit Windows.
