Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Error Code: 0x643.

I have tried 6 times now to install Microsoft.NET Freamwork 1.1 Service Pack
1 and each time I do, I receive Error Code: 0x643.

I have done the following:
1. Uninstalled all .NET updates and the entire .NET Framework and
reinstalled the framework.
2. Uninstalled the Windows Updater 3.1 and reinstalled it.
3. Verified that my permsission are set to Full in the .NET configuration
tool accessed via the Control Panel.

Does anyone have any other suggestion to get this update to install? The
only other idea that came to mind was IE is not set as my default browser but
I am not sure if that would be a factor. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Bill
I've got exactly the same problem with this service pack 1.
I've tryed approximetly the same actions.
IE is my défault explorer and no matter with that.

Since 7/24/2005 you wrote this question, have you resolve this problem, and
.... how.

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 - Error Code: 0x643

I'm getting same error here... any ideas as to why this error is occurring?

Ditto! I have the same problem and have tried at least all the steps that
others have tried (below).

Has anyone figured this out?? Please help. Thanks!

Yay! This problem (on my pc) has been solved. I just:

1.) Remove the .NET Framework 1.1 SDK
2.) "Repair the .NET Framework 1.1 by using the command prompt", as
described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824643/
