i usually let windows update on its own. But i decided to check for any

failing. I dont know much on how to fix this problem. any advice would be

On the WU Website, select your history of updates – now click on failed update (red mark) and see if
there is an error code.
If there is an error code, write it down and post back or in the alternative, do a search for the
error code.

I am attempting to follow the instructions provided by URL shown here and
when I attempt to uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 RTL x86 enu, it
issues this error: "The Installation Source for this product is not
available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it". I
originally installed MS Visual Studio 2003/Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 via
the Microsoft CD. Is it attempting to look for the Prerequsities CD and
issuing this error? Confused.
