Uninstall the Beta versions of .NET
that are installed on your computer
and then either use Windows Update or
download the .NET 3.5 file to your hard drive
and then install the update.

SP1 also includes cumulative servicing updates to the .NET Framework 2.0 and
..NET Framework 3.0 subcomponents. Microsoft has also included the NET
Framework 2.0 SP2 as part of 3.5 SP1. You have the choice of using the
bootstrapper or downloading the "Full Package" Service Pack file. In your
particular case I would use the bootstrapper option (small download file
size) located near the top of the Microsoft article contained in the link I
posted above.
