As an aside, the only update for any of the .Net things was v1.1. All
others add functions to the .Net capability.
I never installed any version of .Net. Over time, though, I installed
various software packages that, evidently, required at least one version
that the system did not have.
Thus, now, this computer has 1.1, 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2, and 3.5 SP1. If I
remember correctly, Visual Studio installed 2.0. TurboTax installed one of
the others. The rest may have been installed by the catchall update for
3.5.
All of the .Net packages are the latest version of that particular package.
