I have stumbled across a web site with the solution. I had to re-install XP
and the updater site tells me theService pack and WMP rollup needs to be
installed. After reading from Geekswithblogs, I checked and they both are
installed. If you have to re-load your programme, after you have downloaded
..Net 2, the system will tell you it needs installing, when it dosen't.You
have to use ORCA (?)in the system to disable or remove 2 actions in the msi
file. Check the web site .
