Microsoft no longer update pre-SP2 XP systems

Is Microsoft planning on not having updates for XP systems that have not been
upgraded to Service Pack 2? Heard this in a meeting and someone said January,
but I fogot the day. Is this true? If so is there an article or documentation
regarding it.

There is a note on the Windows Update page that RTM
(pre-SP1) won't have support.
