The Updates of the 16th KB908531, KB911562, KB890830, Kb912812 and KB911567
cause failure of the Open and Save options in Microsoft Office and you have
to restore to a date before the 16th in order to get it back and decline any
further upgrades - see later mail from Lara which has been answered by MS. I
have yet to try this fix.

Perhaps the following will explain & resolve your issue:

Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell
after you install security update MS06-015
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165

Easy Fix: Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Item No. 383 "Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software - Fix (MS06-015)"
to download a registry fix.

Note: You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus program
in order to safely run the scripted fix.

Also, review the following:

MS06-013: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912812

Internet Explorer ActiveX compatibility patch for Mshtml.dll
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917425/

I made a restart of my computer and did a complete Scandisk of my hard drive,
to see if there were any disk problem. After this was finish, everything seem
to work properly.

Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell after you install security
update MS06-015
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/918165
Microsoft Security Bulletin MS06-015

Vulnerability in Windows Explorer Could Allow Remote Code Execution (908531)
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms06-015.mspx

For those who have Hewlett Packard's Share to Web Software, there are two
registry patches to choose from (run either one or the other) not both:

Ottmar Freudenberger has made a patch available at:-
http://patch-info.de/WinXP/Downloads...are-To-Web.zip
(Note this is a Zip file and will need to be extracted. It contains a REG file
which needs to be imported into the registry)
or
Kelly has made a patch available at:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line #383 - this is a vbs file and instructions on how to use such files are at
the top of the page.

Bye,
Freudi

Go to Control Panel; then "Add or Remove Programs". Make sure "Show Updates"
box at top is checked. Scroll to appropriate program (probably Security
Update KB908531). Highlite it, then click "Remove". You can re-install it
aat a later date if the get the bugs worked out.
