See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921914
"How to disable or uninstall the pilot version of Microsoft Windows Genuine
Advantage Notifications"

"you can uninstall versions that range from 1.5.0527.0 to 1.5.0532.2"

Robin: This is interesting (from that article):

"Regardless of genuine status, users are not denied access to critical
updates"

Does this mean you can now use live update, or is it still only for
automatic updates?

We had reported evidence under the previous WGA version that it was only via
Automatic Update that critical updates could be obtained if the system
failed validation.

To test the new version 1.5.540, I would need a non-validating XP, which I
don't have right now.

My *guess* is that it remains AU only for critical updates.

There is some PR at

What about Notifications version 1.5.0526, installed in
early May? Is that a "pilot" version? Can it be
uninstalled the same way?
