Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 Transciever broke after SP1

Hi,
After intallation of Vista SP1, my bluetooth device that is shipped with my
presenter mouse 8000 no longer is able to add any device.
Before upgrading to SP1 I saw the problems with DELL bluetooth, but I
wouldn't think this was related to microsoft itself as well.
I still can use the mouse after SP1 installation , but I cannot add any
other devices. I also have to mention that re-installing the microsoft
Intellipoint 6.2 does not resolve the issue. What's more, after initiating
the re-installation, the bluetooth icons and radio buttons in device manager
temporarily appear, but soon after (10 sec) they disappear. If connection
between the mouse and the transciever is terminated, Microsoft Mouse software
needs to be used to re-establish the connections, and Windows bluetooth
manager is non-funtional.
I have also tried switching to HArdware more from software mode but that
doesn't make any changes. I have tried to restart services but that was
useless as well.
I had no choice but to rollback to pre-SP1. Unfortunately after rollback,
Software mode for the bluetooth device no longer works and windows is unable
to detect any device. Only the mouse works and it doesn't show up in the
connected devices list. Hardware mode, however, works and I can conncet new
devices in the device list.
I really appreciate it if someone could help me with this.
I appreciate any response,
Thx!

Hi,
The device installs perfectly, but after installation, the radio buttons
disappear and it will not show up in either device manager or the bluetooth
devices. And by that I mean, it does not show up as un-installed or
installed.
This is as if the device has not been pluged in at all, when device manager
does not recognize the device is connected to the computer.
I appreciate any response.
Thx.

Have you tried Methods 1 and 2 in KB948187? Have you contacted the
manufacturer of the mouse?

Hi,
As I stated earlier, the device is not listed as either installed or
un-installed in the device manager and because of that I am unable to
uninstall it. I have tried to re-install the device, and the installation
seems successfull but the bluetooth icon in taskbar and bluetooth radiobutton
in device manager disappear once installation is finished.
Intellipoint 6.2 recognizes that the device is pluged it, but windows itself
doesn't recognize that. Also I'm using Windows Home Premium SP1 32bit english.
It seems that windows does not recognize the presence of the device at all,
although the mouse itself works (plug and play problems?).
As I stated before, the mouse is Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 and I have
contated your support centre and they have been unable to resolve my issue,
and their response was just to wait until the issue is reported by multiple
customers so that it would be escalated to the Microsoft engineers and they
would write a hot-fix for it.
I would appreciate your response,
Thnx!

Have you checked this KB?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811797/en-us

The input device may not work when you try to use a Bluetooth-enabled
Microsoft wireless keyboard or mouse

Hi, Thnx for the input. However the problem presists. Let me elaborate on
this a bit:
The windows Blutooth Devices does not recognize the presence of the
Bluetooth Transciever, and as a result, the search for any bluetooth devies
does not find any devices. The "hardware" tab of the "bluetooth devices" does
not show any bluetooth hardware either (no enumerator or transciever", so I
can't uninstall or install my bluetooth device (transciever), not even from
the device manager.
As I said before, it treats the device as not connected, even though the
device is connected. As a result it does not find any external device (cannot
use the transciever to catch any signal, hence refreshing the search for new
devices does not make a change, no device will be found).
I thank you in advnce for any response,
Ali

Can only say I have the same problem and are looking for a solution. I tried to uninstall the mouse drivers and install the hardware again with the mouse turned off. This because I had the same problem in the past (after initial of the mouse). The Bluetoothwas not working for other than the mouse. After a complete reinstall of my laptop, the bluetooth suddenly worked and I but the mouse was not yet installed. After installation of the mouse booth the bluetooth and the mouse were working. I guess the mouse drivers somehow block the general bluetooth function . . .

Vista SP1? WinXP SP1? Office 2007 SP1?...

A device driver is not installed, or a hardware device does not function
correctly after you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1
