Need help! The following Microsoft Products won't work on Vista.

-Windows Live Messenger

-Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition

-Windows Media Player Network Sharing Device

-Windows Defender User Interface (works sometimes)

They all show the same error message. Which is:
'"This Microsoft Product" Stopped Working.' ON VISTA! What the hell is wrong
with microsoft? Their own softwares won't work on their own operating system!
Whereas other softwares from other brands do! How can i fix this guys? Need
your help! Thanks!

VS 2005 works on Vista and I would suspect that the other software does too.

Did you install some software on the machine that is not Vista compaible
that will start things to crash?

Is the machine Vista compatible? Did toshiba tell you the machine was Vista
compatible?

If you have Restore the O/S enabled and you have the Vista install DVD or
CD, then boot off it and go to Restore and restore the O/S back to a version
that was not having the problems.

Can't speak to the other apps, but C# Express runs fine here on Vista
Ultimate. Is there a VS Express edition? I thought the Express editions were
language specific, e.g., C#, VB, etc.

As to upgrades... yeah, I don't subscribe to the upgrade path. I've done
clean installs on all my Vista seats and have had, without exception, good
results, i.e., apps install and run without issue.

A lot of files that you need to go from, say, XP to VISTA especially on a
laptop are not on the VISTA retail disks. Was your upgrade disk a Toshiba
version specifically for your model Satellite? Did the instructions say
anything about getting other files from the Toshiba website and did you do
that?

You'll find a lot of specific Toshiba experience over in the Compuserve
Laptop Forum:

http://community.compuserve.com/laptop

This used to be run by Toshiba but now it's run for all laptops by users
like here although Toshiba still refers people to it on their website and
in their manuals.

If you post there give the FULL details of the Satellite Model; what
version of Windows it was supplied with and which version of VISTA you have
upgraded to.

From what I see in practice: "Not Always" -- but that is why I asked.
