The Microsoft Research ftp site is here:

ftp://ftp.research.microsoft.com/

It is clear that the Microsoft Research ftp site is running on a UNIX/Linux
server. Why? Is this meant to be an endorsement? Please elaborate.

Thank you.

Good question. Are YOU drunk or stoned. It is not a good policy to
lash out verbally that way in public.

If Microsoft Research ftp site is running on a UNIX/Linux server, the
Ph.D. people who work there must have a good reason.

Any professional IT guy would want to know what other professional IT
people are doing.

Are you on Prozac?

Are you promoting Ubuntu on a Microsoft site. I get it. You are a
mole. Go back to your hole, mole.

and help those sorry sacks

Good question. After browsing through the Microsoft Research ftp site,
I encountered a number of home movies in .mov format. To the best of
my knowlege .mov videos cannot be opened with any Microsoft software.
I'm pretty sure that Apple Quicktime works.

Maybe Microsoft Research is doing research on competitors technology.
I heard their was a lot of patent infringement going on on all sides
in the industry.

You're nuts. It's a Windows 2003 server.

Be careful when you call someone nuts. There are several ways the
interested reader can view this thread. One is on a censored Microsoft
feed and one other is by google. There may be others. You are calling
someone nuts who has already been censored out of existance. Its like
****ing into the wind.
