Microsoft Tech Support fix for KB917283

I have Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 installed on my computer. I
have had KB917283 installed on my computer but "Microsoft Updates" keeps
offering KB917283 to install.
Today Microsoft Tech Support has been calling back those that have called
into Microsoft with this issue with a fix that worked for me as well as
others.
1. Uninstall .Net Framework 2.0 from Add/Remove programs and restart your
computer.
2. After Restart, Go to Microsoft.com and download .net Framework 2.0 from
their website and restart your computer.
3. After Restart, run Microsoft Update and download KB917283 and restart
your computer
4. After Restart. go back to Microsoft updates and run. You should see
KB917283 no longer reoffered.
