Microsoft Update downloads but fails install with error 0x80070663

I just reinstalled Office 2003 to get it working again after putting in a new
boot hard drive (Used Seagates DriveWizard to copy the drive conents over
from the old drive). Outlook would not load from IE and the other office
components kept trying to install when opened, so I uninstalled and
reinstalled both. Now Office and IE6 both work correctly but when windows
downloads (automatically or manually): Office Sp2, Update for Outlook Junk
Email filter 2003 (KB923095) and Update for Office 2003 (KB907417) they
download and initiallize fine but the install ends in failure for all with
the error code 0x80070663. None of these updates show installed in the
control panal and my update history shows multiple attemps to install all
failing with the same error. Can anyone help me straighten this out?

I spoke too soon - correcting the registry entries seems to work for an
upgrade to SP1, maybe SP2, but not SP3? There is probably another registry
key that is missing that is not in the MS 6 MicroSoft solution for the error
code.
